Twenty-two-year-old Cooper Corrao had a brainstorm of an idea one day when he and his family went out for dinner. His father and sister wanted to go out for dessert afterwards and get some ice cream. Cooper was too full, but wouldn’t have minded just having the ice cream cone without the ice cream.
Suddenly, he had an idea. An idea that would eventually lead to his very own original business. He makes waffle cones, creating his own recipes in a commercial bakery. He coats them in different flavors, breaks them into chips, bags and seals them, and then sells them at local markets. He also has a small online store.
Some of the flavors offered are: salted caramel, cinnamon toast, dark chocolate, birthday cake, cookies and cream, and his newest creation are his coop cone- olis. They are his coops cones on the outside with his own cannoli cream that he fills up fresh at the market. He also has seasonal flavors such as pumpkin and chocolate peppermint.
Cooper sells his product at Bellworks in Holmdel every Wednesday, in West Long Branch on Fridays, and the Marlboro market every other Sunday. There are some holiday markets coming up, such as Granny’s Attic, and the cake and cookie convention in September. He really would like to get into stores some day since people really are liking the product.
