East Windsor Township Awarded New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway Program

$190,000 Grant for Extension of the Township Pathway System
East Windsor was one of only nine municipalities statewide to receive the highly competitive program grant award. The funds will be used toward constructing an off-street bikeway in the south-central part of the Township, connecting the existing Pulte Pathway, across Airport Road and providing safe connections for pedestrians and bicyclists to the East Windsor Police Athletic League complex and the East Windsor School District Hightstown High School. The funded project would include all necessary safety, directional and trail information signage. The New Jersey Department of Transportation Bikeway Grant Program provides funds to counties and municipalities to promote bicycling as an alternate mode of transportation for the benefit of cyclists and pedestrians and advance local bike path projects.
